Villa’s K-6 faculty were part of a Kagan Professional Development program this summer. One of the tools they learned about was the Stand Up, Hand Up, Pair Up activity. It makes learning more fun.
In Mrs. Barker’s classroom, students wrote questions and answers about the book they were reading. They stood up found a partner, quizzed their partner, and discussed their answers. When they finished, they put their hand up to pair up with another partner. The exercise allows students to work with all of their classmates and to design their own review.
